Honest comparison

Lucida vs Naukri.com.

Naukri is a job board — the dominant one in India. Lucida is an AI hiring panel. These are different categories, not competitors. But "should I post to Naukri or use Lucida?" is a question we hear, so here's the honest answer.

The one-paragraph answer

Use both, in different parts of the funnel. Post to Naukri to source candidates (you'll get 100-500 résumés per role). Then bring those résumés into Lucida to filter, score, and shortlist — Naukri does not do that, and reading 300 résumés by hand is what we built Lucida to make unnecessary.

How they fit together

A typical Lucida customer's hiring flow:

  1. Post the JD to Naukri (or LinkedIn, or AngelList, or just your own LinkedIn DMs). You're paying for reach.
  2. Get 100-300 applicants over 2 weeks. Some are great, most are noise. Reading them all by hand is the bottleneck.
  3. Bulk-paste those résumés into Lucida via /admin/jobs/<slug>/bulk-import. Lucida scores all of them against your rubric in minutes. ₹2-3 of LLM cost per candidate.
  4. Lucida surfaces the top 8-12 with cited evidence. You read those carefully. The rest get a polite feedback report.
  5. Shortlist 3 for a 30-minute call. Lucida generates a briefing for each one.

The Naukri-only failure mode

Most teams that use only Naukri end up doing one of two things:

  • Skim résumés on keyword. Get 8 candidates that all have "Python" in their résumé. Run 8 phone screens. Realize 5 were lying about depth. Wasted 6 hours.
  • Hire a recruiter to filter. Pay ₹50K-2L for someone to do exactly what Lucida does, on a one-off basis, with much less consistency.

Lucida is what sits between "stack of résumés from Naukri" and "Cal.com call with the top 3." That's the entire wedge.

If you can only pay for one

Honest answer: if your network is already strong (LinkedIn + referrals + community), skip Naukri and use only Lucida. The bulk-paste flow handles résumés from any source — LinkedIn DM replies, referral emails, AngelList applications. Most of our customers don't actually pay for Naukri; they source organically and Lucida does the heavy filtering.

If your network is weak and you genuinely need top-of-funnel reach, pay Naukri for distribution and pair it with Lucida for filtering. The combined cost is ~₹8,500/month — still cheaper than one recruiter month, and infinitely repeatable.
