These Terms govern your use of Lucida. By signing up, paying for, or otherwise using the product, you agree to them. They're written in plain English on purpose — if anything is unclear, email hello@lucida.team.
1. Who's who
"Lucida" refers to the software product operated by the sole proprietor at hello@lucida.team (the operator). "You" refers to the legal entity or individual that signs up for a workspace.
2. What Lucida does and doesn't do
What we do
- Provide a hiring-decision support tool: rubric generation, candidate scoring, adaptive interview, shortlist briefing, candidate feedback reports
- Process candidate applications submitted to your published jobs
- Score candidates against the rubric you publish, using Lucida AI (see Privacy §2)
- Send transactional email on your behalf (with your contact email as reply-to)
- Provide a candidate-facing feedback report at
/c/<tenant>/feedback/<id>
What we don't do
- We are not a recruiting agency. We don't source candidates, conduct interviews on your behalf, negotiate offers, or do reference checks.
- We are not an ATS replacement at enterprise scale. No multi-user workspaces in v1, no compliance integrations, no offer-management workflow.
- The AI score is not the hire decision. The final hire call is always yours.
- We don't guarantee any particular hiring outcome.
3. Your responsibilities
By using Lucida, you confirm that:
- You have lawful authority to post the jobs you publish (you are the hiring employer or their authorized agent)
- The job descriptions you publish are accurate and not misleading
- You comply with applicable labor law in the jurisdiction you're hiring in — including equal-opportunity, anti-discrimination, minimum wage, and disclosure requirements
- You will give candidates final, human review before any adverse hiring decision (don't rely solely on the AI score for a reject)
- You will not use Lucida to score candidates for any purpose other than the published job they applied to
- You will not attempt to extract Lucida's prompts, scoring logic, or proprietary outputs for use in a competing product
4. Data isolation
Every workspace's data is isolated from every other workspace's. Application-layer queries explicitly filter by workspace ID; PostgreSQL Row-Level Security policies enforce the same boundary at the database level. The Lucida operator's super-admin role is used only for support and audit, with access logged.
Cross-workspace aggregate statistics (e.g. "peer cohort" tiles) are computed only when ≥3 distinct peer companies and ≥10 scored applications match the segment — preventing reverse-engineering of any single company's data.
5. Billing
Plans
- Free trial — first 10 scored applications free, no card required
- Lucida Monthly — ₹2,499/month (incl. GST), cancellable anytime
- Lucida Annual Prepay — ₹24,999/year (incl. GST), 17% discount vs monthly
- Founding 200 LTD — ₹49,999 one-time, capped at the first 200 customers; lifetime access subject to §6 (Lifetime obligation cap)
All prices in Indian Rupees (INR). Payment is via Razorpay. GST invoice provided on every transaction. We do not auto-renew without your explicit consent on the monthly plan; annual prepay does NOT auto-renew — we will email you 30 days before the renewal window.
What's included
Every paid tier includes:
- Unlimited jobs + candidates
- AI-generated rubric + 10 interview questions per job
- Candidate scoring with cited evidence
- Candidate feedback reports
- Email alerts on every scored candidate
- Round-2 briefing on every shortlist (Annual + LTD only in v1; Monthly tier in v2)
LLM spend cap
Each plan carries a daily AI-scoring cost cap (in INR) to prevent runaway usage. If you exceed it, scoring requests return HTTP 429 until the next UTC day. You can see your current usage at /admin/billing. Caps: Free ₹10/day; Monthly ₹50/day; Annual ₹200/day; LTD ₹200/day.
6. Lifetime obligation cap (LTD only)
The Founding 200 LTD plan grants lifetime access to Lucida, defined as the longer of: (a) five years from purchase date, or (b) the operational lifetime of Lucida. This is a deliberate cap to keep the lifetime obligation finite and contractually clean.
In the event Lucida is wound down, sold, or transitioned to a successor entity before five years from your purchase date, we will: (a) provide at least 90 days' written notice; (b) export your full data set in a machine-readable format; (c) work with the successor entity (if any) to provide equivalent or substitute services; and (d) refund a pro-rata portion of unused term where reasonably calculable.
Source-code escrow arrangements (via a third-party escrow agent) trigger upon the operator's incapacity exceeding 60 days, releasing code and DB backups to a designated trustee who will arrange continuity for active LTD customers.
7. Refunds
See our Refund Policy for the full SOP. Summary:
- Monthly: cancel anytime; no refund on the current period
- Annual prepay: pro-rata refund within 30 days of purchase if Lucida is genuinely not fit for your use case
- LTD: full refund within 14 days of purchase; pro-rata partial refund up to 90 days for the actually-unused portion of the five-year cap; no refund after 90 days from purchase
8. Limitations of liability
Lucida is provided "as is." We make no warranty that the AI score will predict hire outcomes, that any specific candidate will be hired, or that you will avoid making a bad hire. Hiring decisions are difficult and consequential, and Lucida is a tool that assists — not replaces — your judgment.
Our maximum aggregate liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
9. Termination
You may close your workspace at any time from /admin/settings or by emailing hello@lucida.team. We may terminate or suspend your account for material breach of these Terms (including non-payment, abuse of the platform, or attempts to extract competitive IP) after providing reasonable notice.
On termination: we delete your workspace, jobs, and candidate data within 90 days (subject to retention requirements documented in Privacy Policy). LTD customers receive a pro-rata refund per §7.
10. Changes to these terms
We will email all active workspace admins at least 30 days before any material change. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law + disputes
These Terms are governed by Indian law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through good-faith conversation will be referred to the courts of Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Both parties consent to that jurisdiction.
Before commencing litigation, both parties agree to attempt informal resolution by email for at least 30 days from notice of dispute.
