40%
Deal discipline
MEDDIC / SPIN / situational selling — whatever their framework, they use one consistently.

Quota history, deal sizes, industries. Specifics, not 'exceeded quota consistently.'
20%
Resilience
Loses well. Learns from a stalled pipeline without spiraling.

The questions.

  1. 01
    communication medium · handoff

Describe your handoff to Customer Success after closing.

    Strong answer
Written + verbal. CS in the last call. Account plan shared. Honest about commitments made. Not a 'throw over the wall.'
    Weak answer
    Ghost after signature.
  2. 02
    sales medium · discovery

Walk me through how you qualify a new inbound lead.

    Strong answer
BANT / MEDDIC / whatever, used consistently. Listens more than talks. Identifies decision-maker AND champion. Doesn't pitch before understanding.
    Weak answer
Pitches immediately. Or qualifies based on company logo.
  3. 03
    sales medium · lost-deal

Tell me about a deal you lost that you should have won. What did you change?

    Strong answer
Honest retrospective. Specific miss. Systemic change — in process, not just effort.
    Weak answer
Blames product or pricing. No ownership.
  4. 04
    sales hard · enterprise

Describe a deal you pulled back from the brink. What specifically did you do?

    Strong answer
Multi-threaded the account. Found the actual concern (often not stated). Brought right people in at right time. Didn't discount.
    Weak answer
    'I pushed harder.' Or discounted.
  5. 05
    sales medium · objection

Your prospect says 'your competitor is 20% cheaper.' What do you say?

    Strong answer
Re-anchors on value. Doesn't discount reflexively. Asks what's driving the price focus — budget, skepticism, competing priority.
    Weak answer
Immediately discounts. Or dismisses the competitor.
  6. 06
    resilience medium · slump

You're in a quota slump. What do you do in the next week?

    Strong answer
Diagnose the pipeline — top of funnel? Mid? Close rate? Doesn't panic-prospect. Takes action on the right stage.
    Weak answer
Works 14-hour days. Or blames marketing.
  7. 07
    situational medium · ethics

A prospect offers to 'make the deal easier' with something off-the-books. What do you do?

    Strong answer
Clear no. Reports internally. Doesn't burn the bridge unnecessarily.
    Weak answer
    Vague answer. Or 'depends.'
  8. 08
    sales medium · champion

How do you identify and develop a champion inside an account?

    Strong answer
Someone with internal credibility who wants your solution to win. Not necessarily the decision-maker. Invests in them — gives them ammo, makes them look good internally.
    Weak answer
    Can't distinguish champion from decision-maker.
  9. 09
    culture medium · internal

Product says your ask from that deal isn't on roadmap. What do you do?

    Strong answer
Understands the strategic reasoning. Separates the deal-ask from the general pattern. Doesn't escalate. Doesn't commit things that aren't there.
    Weak answer
Escalates. Or commits anyway and deals with it later.
  10. 10
    experience baseline · resume-probe

Your resume says you hit 120% of quota. What was the quota, deal sizes, who were your customers?

    Strong answer
Specifics. Distribution (a few big ones? many small ones?). Industry. Honest about the year.
    Weak answer
    Claims without specifics.
